MINUTES OF REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
LAGRANGE TOWN BOARD
March 14, 2005
The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of LaGrange was called to order by Supervisor Sukala at 7:30 PM. A moment of silence was observed for David Heilmeier and his health concerns. Supervisor Callaway, Supervisor Sukala, Supervisor Lohrmann and Supervisor Taylor were present. Crystal Hoffmann, Clerk/Treasurer and Elizabeth Adelmann, Town Attorney were also present.
- The minutes of February 14, 2005 were approved as presented. (Callaway/Lohrmann)
- The treasurers’ report was given and accepted as presented.
- The agenda was approved with addenda (Callaway/Lohrmann).
- Committee reports:
a. Buildings and Highways- motion to post NO PARKING signs at the entrances of Pleasant Hill Lane, and on Oakwood Drive from intersection to 50 feet from the first driveway and 200 feet South of the intersection for Pleasant Lake Road (Callaway/Lohrmann) Motion carries.
b. Safety Committee – held meeting on 2/24/05—Fire department: bought a used equipment truck that they will now equip; Members attended smoke reading training; the annual F.D. dance is 4/16/05 at the Legion in Whitewater. LESD: are going to do some changing with the phones as the DNR only funds 2 lines; there will be no DNR training this year for the officers; the boaters safety course will be 6/17 and 6/18 here at the Town Hall
c. Lake Management Districts’ reports: no report
d. Personnel and Finance—no meeting
e. Information committee—working on the newsletter, draft is now available
- Plan and Zone-no meeting
- Dissolving the LaGrange Sanitary District—public hearing was held during this time, there were no comments made—Motion made to go ahead and dissolve this district (Callaway/Lohrmann) Motion carries.
- Report on the Walworth Economic Development Committee from Ann Lohrmann
- Request for slider apparatus on Lauderdale Lake—safety committee approved, same permit was issued last year, will only be on lake when in use—Motion to approve with proof on insurance for $100,000/$300,000 (Callaway/Taylor) Motion carries
- Formation of a sub-committee to research the possibility of a municipal court—recommendation from the safety committee—was brought up by the DNR at the audit that we are one of the few municipalities that do not have our own court Motion to form such a committee for fact finding purposes (Callaway/Taylor) Motion carries
- The newly elected members of the Improvement Association are Bud Vance (President) and Floyd Pochowski (Vice President)
- Request from Attorney Bob Leiblse for another 120 day extension on the Smith/Wright proposed subdivision plats Motion to approve extension until August 9, 2005 (Callaway/Taylor) Motion carries
- Adopting an order providing for the laying out, relocation and improvement of Shagbark Lane—this is necessary for the acquisition of property through condemnation. Motion to approve (Callaway/Lohrmann) Motion carries.
- The public hearing for special assessments for road improvements for Shagbark Lane—Motion to have the hearing on June 11, 2005 at 9 a.m. at the Town Hall (Taylor/Callaway) Motion carries.
- Approval of bills properly submitted for payment (Taylor/Lohrmann)
There being no further business a motion to adjourn was made at 8:48 PM (Callaway/Lohrmann).
