MINUTES OF REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING LAGRANGE TOWN BOARD August 11, 2008 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of LaGrange was called to order by Supervisor Bromley. Supervisor Bromley, Supervisor Sukala, and Supervisor Callaway were present. Crystal Hoffmann, Clerk/Treasurer was also present. Absent were Chairman Taylor and Supervisor Schramm. The minutes of July 14, 2008 were approved as presented (Bromley/Schramm) Treasurer’s report—not available The agenda was approved (Bromley/Schramm) Committee Reports: a. Buildings and Highways: working on the Park at the boat house, want to move on with the pier, there are three options for decking: all treated wood $4,500; elements decking $4,800 with 25 year warranty; or bearboard for $4,500 with a 50 year warranty. Also need to add cost of installation of $1,300. This pier is to be used only by Rescue and Fire Department. Motion to approve the purchase of the Bearboard for the pier and total cost of $5,800, color gray (Callaway/Sukala) Motion carries. b. Safety committee: Officer Otterbacher here from Walworth County Sheriff Dept—had 108 calls in June, 118 calls in July, nothing really noteworthy to report; Water Patrol—Nestor filed the water patrol report, Still investigating the high speed response of the patrol boat to a call; wakeboard class going on—really needs to apply for permit at Town Board level; item for next month’s agenda-tubing through the channel. c. Lake Management Districts: Pleasant Lake—2nd Saturday in November, getting serious about the drain. LLLMD at clubhouse on Saturday, final recommendations for culverts, possible to get FEMA funding d. Finance and Personnel: no meeting e. Information committee: no meeting Planning and Zoning: a. Approval of Condo declarations for Lawton Estates—Plan and Zone conditionally approved of declarations pending Town Attorney and Town Chair approval, Motion to conditionally approve pending Town Attorney and Town Chair approval (Callaway/Sukala) Motion carries. b. Approval of Developer’s Agreement for Lawton Estates—Motion to approve pending Town Chair and Town Attorney’s approval of developer’s agreement (Callaway/Sukala) Motion carries. c. CSM approval for Thomas and Kristi Santi, W5198 Bluff Road—splitting into two parcels, one lot is 7.28 acres, the 2nd is 14.82 acres, Plan and Zoning approved stating that if Walworth County has a problem with the easement for access to the back lot then they need to address that issue, Motion to approve as presented (Sukala/Callaway) Motion carries. Update on Beach/Boat house at W5633 West Shore Drive—expecting the final billing, will hold pending final walk through with engineer, County and Board members, Motion to approve final payment contingent upon final walk through with Walworth County, Engineer, and Board members (Callaway/Sukala). Motion carries. Also suggest to put up a fence to keep people off plantings and to keep people from driving on it. Pumping of Wandawega Lake into Don Jean Bay—this was started at a meeting at Sugar Creek, probably won’t happen, last time this was a problem was 19 years ago, Motion to send a letter to the Town of Sugar Creek stating that the Town of LaGrange opposes the pumping of Lake Wandawega into Don Jean Bay (Callaway/Sukala) Motion carries. April 2005 election—ongoing, called investigator, lawyer was supposed to call back, no phone call from lawyer. Payment of bills submitted for approval—Motion to pay bills submitted (Callaway/Sukala) Motion carries.
