MINUTES OF REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
LAGRANGE TOWN BOARD
September 8, 2008
The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of LaGrange was called to order by Chairman Taylor. Chairman Taylor, Supervisor Bromley, Supervisor Sukala, and Supervisor Schramm were present. Crystal Hoffmann, Clerk/Treasurer was also present. Absent was Supervisor Callaway
- The minutes of August 11, 2008 were approved as presented (Bromley/Schramm)
- Treasurer’s report, accepted as read.
- The agenda was approved (Schramm/Sukala)
- Committee Reports:
a. Buildings and Highways: had meeting on August 25, discussed what to use launch fee monies for—should be used for repair to launches, buoys, dumpsters, approaches to launches, and handicapped stamp for parking spots; #7 on agenda—Sterlingworth launch—have worked with the engineer and launch is in same elevation it was before it was redone. Pat talked with Amon and could add 3” asphalt to raise ramp, also would fix manhole and add a riser to it. Pat will get proposal from Amon for budget; Pleasant Lake would like to aerate the outflow (inlet to pipe), need letter from them holding the Town harmless; Deakin Isle bridge—in need of repairs, Kristen from Crispell-Snyder putting together numbers for the budget.
b. Safety committee: Old tanker is sold and on it’s way to Florida, will stay in service down there; Steak Fry was one of the best ever; Frank Taylor has been nominated as Fire Officer of the Year; Buoys—applying for grant monies for informational buoys; Committee is in need of new member (Jon Jacobson retired)—would like to accept George Potter, will put on the Town Board agenda for next month for approval.
c. Lake Management Districts: nothing to report
d. Finance and Personnel: had meeting to discuss budget numbers.
e. Information committee: no meeting
- Planning and Zoning: discussed standards for zoning agricultural land, will be on the agenda for Town to act in October
- Budget workshop meeting—September 16, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall
- Done under Committee reports, a
- Lauderdale Lakes Improvement Association—want no tubes pulled through the channel, talked with DNR personnel and suggested that the Water Patrol request boaters to put tubes in boat while in channel, if they don’t comply then can issue a ticket for disorderly conduct.
- Betsy Ingle here to talk about Camp Singing Hills—have heard rumor that property is sold, but she is taking a Chancellor from UW-W to look at the property, it’s possible they could use it for training so they might be interested.
- April 2005 election—ongoing.
- Payment of bills submitted for approval—Motion to pay bills submitted (Bromley/Schramm) Motion carries.
There being no further business a motion to adjourn was made at 8:03 p.m. (Bromley/Schramm) Motion carries.
